A month or so ago a visitor to my gallery sent me a slough of angry comments about my gallery, and then proceeded to alert DA about some of the content of my gallery after I told this person they can go screw themselves.
Feel free to criticize my art technique, but shut the hell up about WHAT I draw. If you don't like the content, just move along. There is a TON of content on DA that I find disturbing. My solution? I just don't visit those galleries. I mean, really, what are you hoping to achieve by blasting someone about *what* they draw? Do you honestly think your opinion is so important that you expect an artist to actually STOP and conform to your wishes? Are you THAT narcissistic? Just move along. It really is that easy. That's what I do, and it works pretty well and everyone is happy.
Anyway, the douchbag reported my drawing depicting Joanna wearing her Sarishi gown; a traditional garment that exposes the breasts. I explained that it was from a chauvinistic culture where most womens clothing were rather revealing, and that Sarishi's are worn with pride in her culture but other cultures find it offensive. In the explanation I also mentioned Joanna was 13 in the drawing, as Baklunish culture traditionally begins wearing Sarishis at about that age. Thus, DA removed the drawing since they considered it "child pornography". Really? Funny thing is...there are a few other drawings here on my gallery that depict Joanna showing some skin while under-aged (17 or younger), but wisely didn't mention it in the description. Can you tell which one they are? No, you can't. Because it's a DRAWING. Art. I bet that if I reposted that drawing that was banned and said she was 21, it wouldn't get removed at all. Censorship is inherently inconsistent because it is SUBJECTIVE. I understand DA has some guidelines to follow, but that drawing wasn't pornographic, any more than National Geographic is pornographic.
But that's just my opinion.

Adding Stuff
I know I've apologized numerous times for not updating my page for long periods. So I'm going to explain how my life is going at the moment.
My job is a very tenuous one. I essentially do all the footwork for attorneys in Northern California, which includes process serving, getting depositions, acquiring records from businesses, hospitals, and doctors offices. The bulk of my work has been with records retrieval, but with the rise of digital technology they don't need field reps like myself as much anymore, and they've laid off most of us. I took over the routes formally done by another employee, and because of this I typically work 12-16 hou

Barring unforseen circumstances, Page 17 should be up sometime this weekend, probably Saturday evening.
Demon Bride Part 1 Page 16
Working on Page 16 of Demon Bride Part 1. This may take a bit longer than others, mainly because there's a lot of detail in the panels and a lot going on in each panel as well. Coupled with a busy life (girlfriend, long hours at work, etc), I have no idea when I'll be done, but hopefully I'll have the rest of the day free to work on it. Plotting out the page so it's aesthetically pleasing can be just as time-consuming as actually drawing the panels. Should I make the page six panels or only four? How big should I make this panel, and if I make this panel larger or longer, how will I draw all that's supposed to be happening in the next frame w

It's up.
For those who like to download the pages, you might want to wait a while, since I tend to tinker with my work. It always seems to go that way; I "finish" a page, upload it, then later find a mistake (like a misspelled word or something like a piece of it I didn't shade right) or just something I'm not happy with and I mess with it until I'm happy and upload the modified version. I guess I'm just in a rush to get it up.
Anyways, hope you like it.

Good art should be offending. The offence is in the eye of the viewer.
