Funny, but my half-elf, Lu'thea, is 6ft tall. [link]

She needs works, but anyway, mine isn't DandD.

D&D elves are supposed to be shorter than humans, while Tolkein-esque elves are taller than humans.

Nothing wrong with that! Without Tolkein there would be no Dungeons & Dragons. :)

I never had anyone to play DandD with.

There would be no modern FANTASY lol. Interestingly enough, I've been trying to figure out how heads work in relation to height in people--or demi-people heh. I like to find scales like this. I like your 'blue people' too. Never saw a blue man with a blue penis before lol.

Yeah, well, if I drew it any other color it would draw too much attention to it, as if the genitalia were the most important aspect of the figure, and I didn't want that. I don't like the drawings that over exaggerate boobs, butts, or penises. Don't see the point, really. Must be a fetish thing, because most of them look ridiculous.

Proportions are mostly obtained by eyeballing it to where it looks realistic in regards to the demi-humans I drew. It's more of an artistic thing than anything else. It just has to "look right" and that's hard to explain. Most artists make the heads wayyy too small. On a human figure its actually much larger than most would suspect. On average, the human head is 1/8th or 1/9th of the overall body height.

I know I measured my own head, is 10", but I think women have slightly shorter heads. Sexual dimorphism and all that.

I agree. You won't mind many women I've drawn with huge boobs, none in fact. If it's a big character, like my half-elf Lu'thea, then boobs match body size. She's big, muscular, and has breasts to match.

A good book I still use to this day is "Drawing the head and Figure" by Jack Hamm. Lots of good stuff that could help you.
