Description

This is Jevhond Cliger, a rogue noble from the lands of Chakyik, otherwise known as the Tiger Nomads. He stands 5 foot 8 inches.

Joanna was abducted by Jehvond at the age of 14 years old and spirited away to Jevhond's homelands far to the north as described in Joanna's History, Part 1, under the chapter titled "Jevhond Cliger of the Tiger Nomads" ( mjarrett1000.deviantart.com/ar... ). Jevhond was about 32 years old and obese.

When it is said he was a "rogue" noble, it is important to understand that the Tiger Nomads don't necessarily adhere to a ruling system like what is recognized in more civilized lands. They have chieftains, called Khans, and a master Khan called an Ilkhan. Jevhond's brother was an Ilkhan, whom sent Jevhond away from Yecha (Chakyik's only permanent settlement and seat of power) for fear he might try to someday usurp the Illkhan's rule. Jevhond was delegated to a rather poor area of their lands and was otherwise forgotten. Although he tried numerous times to rally people to his banner, he failed to inspire anyone and his entourage remained small. So when he heard of the young princess Joanna was accepting suitors he made the long journey south to see her for himself with hopes that having such a beautiful wife might garner him more supporters.

As I am not very well versed in Asian barbarian clothing designs, I copied Jevhond's outfit design from this pic on DA. ( jubjubjedi.deviantart.com/art/... ) which is, admittedly, far superior than my artistic abilities. My hats are off to jubjubjedi ( jubjubjedi.deviantart.com/ ) for his excellent work and providing inspiration for this drawing.

I'm particularly happy with how this turned out. Although only a cartoon line drawing, it's pretty close to how I pictured it in my head. I could have spent more time on the ring mail, but I'm not as patient as most artists and feared that if I spent the time drawing each interlocking ring I'd either lose interest in the drawing and never finish it or I'd go crazy in the monotony of it all.
